We are proud to announce that; we are arranging Skiing Program on Saturdays during the snow season.

The program is for everybody with all level of skiing skills. We provide training for the beginners and the skiing gears can be rented from the ski resort.

Time: 9:00am to 5:00pm

Cost:
$40.00 for 8 hours rentals and lift tickets with one hour basic training by a certified trainer (from 9:30am to 10:30am).
You can buy tickets at the ski resort from the ski instructor (Farshad) in cash. Please go to the ski resort at 9:00am and pay Farshad $40.00 for 8 hours rental and lift ticket and $25.00 for 8 hours lift ticket only.

Farshad starts training at 9:30am and finish at 10:30am.

We are organizing a fundraising party for Saturday Feb. 27th, 2009, from 7 pm to 12 am.
The proceeds of the event will be donated through Pardis Charity Group towards sponsoring 5 needy children back home. This will be the third year we are doing this just before Norouz and we hope we can keep doing it for years to come.

Cost: $20 purchased before Feb. 20th, $25 purchased on Feb. 21st and after

Winter Bird Count on Sunday, January 10th in Rouge Park

We are pleased to announce that, we are participating in Rouge Park’s seventh annual Winter Bird Count on Sunday, January 10th.
Any volunteer is welcome, no matter what your birding skills are. It is a fun and educational event. If you are new to birding, this is an excellent experience to learn from skilled birders or simply to learn more about Rouge Park and the wildlife within it.

Time: 7:30am
Meeting location: Parking lot across Leslie subway station on Sheppard St. (North West corner of Leslie and Sheppard).
We carpool to the park and visa versa.
We will go to the Rouge Park in Scarborough (close to the Toronto Zoo) and the count starts at 8:00am.
We can stay there as long as we wish.
At the end of the day (3:00pm), count teams are invited to meet at the West Rouge Community Centre to compile data and share a hot meal provided by Rouge Park.

If you join us, please bundle up, wear multiple layers, waterproof clothing and cover as much skin as possible. We also recommend that you bring hot beverage, snacks for the day, binoculars, field guides and cameras if you have them. These items are not mandatory, but they may help you during the day.

Discover Skiing
We are pleased to announce that, we are planning to have Skiing in the snow season.

Toronto Iranians Community Group is striving to make our community physically active and healthy. We believe a healthy and active person can perform much better in his/her work, school, family and successed faster than an inactive person.

Dear all,
There will be a Backgammon Tournament which I will manage in the end of November at Parya Foundation.
Players will have a chance to play with so many other players before their elimination of the tournament.

Registration fee is set for $100 which you can count as a donation to the Parya Trillium Foundation. For you “expert” players out there, there will be great prizes for the final 4 players. (Might be changed to more prices)

This will be a two days tournament (November 28 & 29) and the number of players is limited to up to 100. (We can not even have one more person because of the structure of this tournament)

Orientation session for all players will be held on November 22 @ 1 PM at Parya. Registration will be closed on November 18 at 12 AM.

Halloween charity party, Sunday, Nov. 1st, 6 to 11 pm


Like previous years, we are holding a Halloween party for the third time on Sunday, November 1st, this year. The proceeds of the event will be donated through Pardis Charity Group towards sponsoring 5 children back home.

Informational Seminar on Mortgage and Life Insurance

Day trip to Algonquin Park on Sat Oct 3 (MUST SEE PLACE IN FALL)

Algonquin's 7,725 square kilometers of forests, lakes, and rivers have assumed as on of the most spectacular places to visit in Fall. A visit to the park will definitely be rewarding as the mosaic of changing colors lights up the forests and hundreds of square miles of red and golden orange forest, blue lakes, and evergreen shores make it one that no one should miss .

The park is about 300 km away from Toronto and Toronto Iranians Community Group with the collaboration of Parya Trillium Foundation are renting a luxurious motor coach (56 seats bus). Due to seat constraint, we are able to have only 56 passengers, therefore advanced registration is required to attend the trip. Registration is based on first come first served basis and it is not refundable.There is no wait list. Please hurry up, before the registration is complete. There is no age limit for the participants in the event. Feel free and invite your family with the kids and your parents.

Free for Kids under 2 years old
$30.00 for members (cash or cheque only)
$40.00 for non-members (cash or cheque only)

Please refrain from tailgating the bus by your own car. The trip is for those coming on the bus.

Toronto Trails END to END Certificate

Toronto has one of the most diverse trails systems anywhere in the world. There are over 200 kilometers of off-road trials, 90 of which are paved.
